This is a proof of concept for part 1 of the two part short film “A Little Behind”. This POC consists of a dance, performed and choreographed by me, which was then rotoscoped and printed onto thermal paper. Additional animations were created by drawing on the images with black crayon and rubbing ink off the paper with water. The final film was captured via stop motion animation. A POC was made due to the time consuming nature of the animation method.

The plan for Part 2 is to scratch patterns into old film footage and superimpose that onto a simple digital animation. The film as a whole is an exploration of mixing mediums and how those mediums reflect the multifaceted and sometimes performative nature of my identity. The full film is currently in production.
